Kurzbeschreibung	Reports on the municipal archives of the former Freie Reichsstadt Weissenburg (central Franconia), which contain inventories from 1724 and 1728 reflecting the repertoire of the city's polyphonic music in the late 17th and early 18th c. These sources are supplemented by indexes of extant copies of the compositions listed and by additional literature. The Weissenburg catalogues are considered in relation to the history of the genres and within the socio-historical context of comparable sources from the rest of Protestant Germany.
